Refracted Theatre Company is committed to the health and wellness of the Refracted Family: that includes both the artists we employ and the audiences we serve. Below are the safety protocols that Refracted Theatre Company is committed to upholding in the wake of the Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic. This protocol will be closely regulated by our team and applied to all productions mounted between now and the state-wide reopening of theaters.
Refracted Theatre Company is committed to:
Health
Safety
Accessibility
Wear A Mask
When enjoying a Refracted Theatre Company production we advise you to wear a mask. This goes for our virtual productions, namely, our immersive audio-theatrical series, The Swell, and our outdoor live-performances including our panto-performance piece Homeless Garden.
Socially Distance
Whether you are out in the world enjoying an episode of The Swell or joining us at one of the two live-performances of Homeless Garden we advise you to KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. At our live-performances we will have marked off areas for you to occupy that are spaced at least six feet from other occupied spaces.
Bike + Walk
Refracted Theatre Company is committed to staging our live-performances in places that are readily accessible to the majority of our audience. For our upcoming workshop of Homeless Garden we will have one performance local to Manhattan and one performance local to Brooklyn. For those who are not biking or walking distance from these performances, the audio-play version of the play will be free-to-access on podcast platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcast, and Google Podcast for the duration of three months following the live-performances. Choose your own adventure.
Follow The Rules
Refracted Theatre Company is working with NYC Parks, and similar departments, on permits for outdoor live-performances. We ask that our audience adhere to any safety protocols or restrictions put in place by NYC Parks, or similar departments including but not limited to wearing face coverings throughout the duration of the live event, distancing, by at least six feet, from other attendees and following markers and signage provided by Refracted Theatre Company that communicate spacing and safety regulations.
Limit Surface Contact
To create a contactless experience, all programs will be available online via email and QR code on site.
